Putting it all Together
In an effort to offer meaningful
job-hunting advice, I diligently
surfed the web to find information
that I could leverage so as not
to reinvent the proverbial wheel.
I found no shortage of expert
advice, much of it contradicting
the insight that preceded it.
This came as no surprise to me,
given the subjective nature of
resume writing. There is no one
right answer!
For those of you who have indeed
sought assistance with resume-writing
in the past, you have no doubt
found that asking 5 experts for
the “right way” will
yield as many diverse answers.
If you agree that the resume
itself should be viewed as a data
sheet or marketing tool, then
its presentation is open to personal
preference as to what works best.
Hence, there is no one right answer,
but there are some worthy guidelines
to heed, and some clear wrong
answers.
The following is an excerpt (included
with permission) from the article
that I found to be most closely
aligned to my own professional
beliefs, tips that I view in my
personal bias to be “correct.”
